Spot AI is a leading AI camera system. With a product offering inclusive of an intelligent video recorder (IVR) with edge computing and cloud storage, and an ease to use dashboard, Spot AI empowers every user in an organization to use video data to improve security and operations.

The need:

When Sherri Bohman joined Spot AI to build a product marketing function in 2023, she faced a common challenge among solo product marketers: a deluge of projects and cross-functional responsibilities, but limited time and resources to meet the organization’s needs.

As a key part of the marketing leadership team, Sherri needed to focus on guiding marketing and product strategy, while finding a way to deliver on key enablement and launch needs.

The approach:

To help Sherri tackle the challenge of building a function on her own, she brought in Matt to add capacity and expertise to the team without needing to invest in a full-time hire. Matt’s significant product marketing experience across business-models, industries, and company stages meant he could easily support Sherri across both tactical and strategic needs.

The outcome:

Over the course of a three month engagement, Matt conducted significant industry research resulting in key content insights and deliverables. He also collaborated with Sherri to build a positioning sprint plan and executed dozens of customer interviews to help guide initial discussions around Spot AI’s positioning workstream.
